Favorite city 8 - saving the city hospital

"Health is our most valuable asset. That is why we are now taking it into our own hands. The Favorite City Volunteer Clinic shines as a role model far beyond the city limits."

Dear Reader,

in favorite city, the hospital was of central importance. The clinic not only provided medical care to residents, but was also an important employer in the city. However, as in so many other cities, high personnel costs and expensive medical equipment led to the clinic operator having to declare bankruptcy.

The closure of the important city hospital left a large gap in the health care of favorite city dwellers. Patients had to travel long distances to distant specialized clinics, where they were often treated only as outpatients. After treatment, they were then left to fend for themselves at home .

In this difficult situation, Mayor Michael Miteinand again calls together a team of experts. Their task is to develop a viable solution to save the hospital and ensure care for the residents.

The successful rescues of the shoe factory and the brewery serve as a model.

It is decided to develop a partially volunteer operating model for the hospital as well, supported by the Gradido volunteer compensation system. Thus, the hospital is revived as a non-profit institution and operated predominantly with volunteers.

Dedicated physicians contribute to this innovative project. In return for their volunteer work, they have access to clinic rooms and medical equipment.

The kitchen is run by local caterers who deliver hot food daily. Breakfast and dinner are prepared by volunteers. A large part of the consistently organic food comes from the volunteer-run solidarity farming of Lieblingsstadt, about which we will report later.

As always, the volunteer work is rewarded with 20 Gradido thank points per hour, which in turn can be exchanged for many generous discounts and benefits.

Another great aspect of the community initiative is that patients and their families are involved in the care process - from bringing their own bedding to organizing meals for themselves and, increasingly, for fellow patients.

With all these changes, the health of the patients always remains the top priority. That is why we cooperate with other clinics in the area as well as with volunteer-run transport services.

This model has not only led to the reopening of the hospital and the renewed provision of essential health services to the people of Favorite City - it is also creating a new sense of community among residents. They enjoy a new bond through mutual giving and receiving for the benefit of all.

In our eighth episode of the popular series "Gradido in favorite city" we learn how the favorite townsfolk are even saving their municipal hospital. This is made possible by exemplary cooperation between the residents, largely on a voluntary basis. With the help of the volunteer compensation system 'Gradido', the voluntary work is remunerated with 20 Gradido per hour. Gradido members receive a wide range of benefits and discounts. In addition, there is a lively exchange among the citizens. This lowers the cost of living for everyone involved.

Feel free to forward this series to your city council, clubs and business owners!

If we do nothing, the big guys will continue to eat the little guys, the middle class will go broke, and our health care will get worse and worse.

With Gradido, we have an effective tool for positive sustainable future design in our hands. Together, we are transforming our cities and towns into vibrant thriving oases - our favorite places!

Love greetings

Yours
