But nature shows us that this assertion has no basis whatsoever.\"<\/em><\/p><p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>- Evert Bleijenberg, founder of the SWARM organization<\/em><\/p><p>Dear Reader,<\/p><p>Many teams, organizations, initiatives and communities start out full of enthusiasm and lots of ideas for a \"good cause\". And then: endless, tiring discussions, open or subliminal power struggles, lots of talk but no action - frustration, anger and disappointment... Why is that? And what can we do to prevent this?<\/p><h3>The age of hierarchical organizations is over<\/h3><p>We are all used to \"functioning\" in hierarchical structures. Even as children - at school at the latest - we learn that the world is hierarchical. These experiences shape the way we think, feel and behave: Fear of authority, putting our own needs on hold, extreme conformity, measuring ourselves against others or the urge to make a name for ourselves and take advantage of others. All of this is inherited and is not in our nature.<\/p><p><strong>This is why people in the \"new age\" have a strong desire to meet each other at eye level, to organize themselves and to do so without hierarchies wherever possible.<\/strong><\/p><h3>But what is the alternative?<\/h3><ul><li>How self-organization works<\/li><li>What role models already exist?<\/li><li>How can we get there?<\/li><li>Who or what is helping us?<\/li><\/ul><p>.<\/p><p>Christiane L\u00fcpken is committed to Society 4.0 and suitable non-hierarchical forms of self-organization.
