In June 2016, a vote was held in Switzerland on the introduction of an unconditional basic income. It was rejected by a majority of 76.9%.<\/p>

If you delve deeper into the argument, you will find roughly the same number of good reasons for and against.<\/p>

Seven arguments of the opponents<\/h3>
  1. An unconditional basic income cannot be financed.<\/li>
  2. It will tempt people into inactivity, as the material incentive to take up work is reduced.<\/li>
  3. Hardly anyone would still do low-paid and unpleasant work.<\/li>
  4. Young people and children, especially those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, could neglect their own education and qualifications.<\/li>
  5. It leads to a \"pensioner mentality\" that is hostile to innovation.<\/li>
  6. An unconditional basic income would have an immense appeal to people and would further increase the flow of migrants.<\/li>
  7. It is not fair if the billionaire is paid the same amount as the garbage collector.<\/li><\/ol>

    Seven arguments put forward by supporters<\/h3>
    1. There are now several proposals for financing.<\/li>
    2. Everyone has a right to a dignified life.<\/li>
    3. Means testing is unworthy.<\/li>
    4. No one should be forced to do a particular job.<\/li>
    5. Digitalization will make more and more jobs redundant.<\/li>
    6. The pension system no longer works.<\/li>
    7. Enormous reduction in bureaucracy.<\/li><\/ol>

      We can find serious arguments on both sides. How can we resolve this dilemma?<\/p>

      \"Creativity is the only renewable resource\".<\/em> So let's turn \"either-or\" into \"both-and\" and find an intelligent, creative solution that takes all the arguments into account!<\/strong><\/p>

      Active basic income unites both sides<\/h3>

      The Active Basic Income guarantees us all unconditional participation in the community. It gives us the right to contribute to the community with what we like to do, i.e. to contribute to the common good. In return, we receive twenty gradido per hour. We are paid for up to fifty hours per month, i.e. a maximum of one thousand gradidos per month.<\/p>

      The contribution we make should correspond to our nature, i.e. take into account our inclinations and abilities. People who love what they do develop their potential and are happier, more satisfied, healthier and more productive. For this reason alone, it is in everyone's interest that each of us is allowed to contribute to the community according to our nature.<\/p>

      Seven arguments for Gradido with an Active Basic Income that integrate the interests of both sides<\/h3>
      1. It finances itself through the initial creation of money and<\/strong> does not need any further financing concepts.<\/li>
      2. It guarantees us all a dignified life and<\/strong> offers us the material incentive to do our bit for the community.<\/li>
      3. Instead of a means test, we receive coaching and<\/strong> are supported in developing our highest potential.<\/li>
      4. We are free to choose how we want to contribute and<\/strong> are paid extra for unpleasant work.<\/li>
      5. We all earn well and<\/strong> are pleased that more and more unpleasant tasks are being transferred to machines.<\/li>
      6. It secures our pension provision and<\/strong> obliges all of us (including migrants) to do our part.<\/li>
      7. It enables an enormous reduction in bureaucracy and<\/strong> is of no interest to billionaires.<\/li><\/ol>

        The deep satisfaction that comes from being able to contribute to the common good and the associated positive effects on the development of potential, quality of life, happiness and health make us clearly prefer the Active Basic Income. <\/strong><\/p>

        Anyone who is unable to contribute to the community for health or age-related reasons will of course receive their basic income unconditionally.<\/p>
