Vision 2050: Gradido as a decentralized democratic global currency

Vision 2050

Subpages:

Gradido as a decentralized democratic world currency

How decentralized money creation is transforming the world

Which country begins?

Gradido is structured so that every country can start, to introduce Gradido as a complementary currency. Other countries will follow suit until eventually all countries worldwide introduce Gradido. As we do not know which country will be the first to do so, for the sake of simplicity this vision starts with Germany, the location of the Gradido Academy.

Introduction: The end of the FIAT era

It is January 1, 2050, and people in Beijing, New York, Lagos, Delhi, São Paulo and Sydney are celebrating the transition to the new global currency. Not because it was ordered, but because it happened naturally.

The fiat currencies - EUR, USD, YEN, CNY - still exist, but nobody wants them anymore.

Within 22 years, a monetary system has been established that nobody thought possible. A system that is not controlled by central banks, that cannot be manipulated by speculators and that gives all of the world's now 9 billion people the same right to create money.

Welcome to the Gradido world.

Part 1: The transition phase 2028-2045

Phase 1A: Pioneer phase (2028-2032)

What happens in this phase:

  1. Germany proves the concept (Vision 2032-D)

    • Economic growth 5.8% p.a.

    • Unemployment at 0.6%

    • Poverty practically eliminated

    • Environment regenerates

  2. Other countries are watching

    • Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands: „We want to too!“

    • Scandinavia follows quickly

    • USA sees opportunities (Vision 2032-USA)

    • South America and Asia explore pilot projects

  3. Scientific validation

    • Nobel Prizes in Economics and Peace

    • International conferences

    • Media coverage

    • Political pressure in non-gradido countries

Phase 1B: Regional expansion (2032-2037)

The „domino effect“:

European GDD Union:

  • 2032: 8 countries (250 million people)

  • 2034: 18 countries (390 million people)

  • 2037: 27 countries (450 million people)

  • Europe = first global gradido region

American gradido room:

  • USA, Canada, Mexico (2030-2032)

  • Brazil, Chile, Argentina (2033-2034)

  • Peru, Colombia, Ecuador (2034-2035)

  • Rest of Latin America (2035-2036)

  • South and North America = 700 million people in 2037

Asia-Pacific region:

  • Asia-Pacific = 2 billion people in 2037

Africa and the Middle East:

  • South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria (2034-2035)

  • Morocco, Ethiopia, Ghana (2035-2036)

  • UAE, Saudi Arabia (2036)

  • Remainder step by step

2037 status:

  • 80+ countries with GDD

  • 4.5-5 billion people (over 60% of the world's population)

  • 60-65% of the global economy in GDD

  • FIAT currencies: „Legacy system“

Phase 1C: Acceleration and completion (2037-2045)

The critical mass has been reached:

With 60% of the global economy in GDD, a return is impossible:

  1. Companies can't help themselves

    • Globally active groups calculate in GDD

    • Suppliers in GDD countries

    • Customers in GDD countries

    • „We have to use GDD or go bankrupt“

  2. Labor mobility

    • People want to work in GDD countries

    • Wages in GDD are higher (no taxes)

    • Migration pressure in GDD countries

  3. Cash flow

    • Investors want to invest in GDD

    • Yields are clear (no interest rate escalation)

    • Risks are lower (stable currency)

    • „Why still hold FIAT?“

2037-2040: The turning point

  • 2037: 80 countries, 60% of the global economy

  • 2039: 120 countries, 80% of the global economy

  • 2040: 145 countries, 90% of the global economy

  • FIAT currencies are objectively irrelevant

2040-2045: Formal abolition

  • China, Russia, North Korea, Iran follow successively

  • Not because of pressure, but out of self-interest

  • „We cannot remain isolated“

Part 2: The world in 2050 - Gradido as a global currency

2.1 Technical infrastructure: Hiero as the backbone of the global Gradido

Decentralized Hiero-based architecture

The global Gradido network 2050 is based on Hiero, the open source DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) developed by the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust is managed. Hiero uses the Hashgraph consensus algorithm, which is superior to classic blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana):

  • 10,000+ transactions per second (Bitcoin: 7, Ethereum: 30, Solana: 3,000)

  • Finality in 3-5 seconds (Bitcoin: 60 minutes, Ethereum: 6-13 minutes)

  • Energy efficiency: 0.00017 kWh per transaction (Bitcoin: ~700 kWh) → Carbon-negative

  • Asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance (aBFT): Highest security level, no 51% attacks possible

  • Horizontally scalable: Unlimited capacity by adding additional nodes

National Hiero-Instances

Each country operates its own Hiero instance(s) as a sovereign GDD ledger:

  • Germany: 84 million people, own GDD ledger

  • USA: 340 million people, own GDD ledger

  • India: 1.4 billion people, own GDD ledger

  • +190 other countries with own instances

Interoperability between countries

All national ledgers can be accessed via the Hiero Consensus Service (HCS) and Cross-border protocols connected with each other:

  • Cross-border GDD payments in real time (3-5 seconds)

  • Automatic currency equalization (1 GDD Germany = 1 GDD USA = 1 GDD India)

  • Smart contracts for international contracts (Solidity-compatible)

Governance: open source and vendor-neutral

Hiero will democratic managed by the Linux Foundation:

  • Technical Steering Committee (TSC): Developers from all countries can participate

  • Open Contribution Model: Anyone can contribute code (as with Linux/Kubernetes)

  • No central control: No country or company can dominate the system

Important: No central „World Central Bank“ necessary - the system is Federated and decentralized.

2.2 Money supply and money creation 2050

Global money creation:

World population in 2050: 9.7 billion people

Monthly money creation per capita: 3,000 GDD
├─ 1,000 GDD Active basic income
├─ 1,000 GDD National budget (local/national)
└─ 1,000 GDD Equalization and environmental fund (global)

GLOBAL:
Monthly money creation: 29.1 trillion GDD
Annual money creation: 349.2 trillion GDD

Global breakdown:
├─ Active basic income: 116.4 trillion GDD/year
├─ National budgets: 116.4 trillion GDD/year
└─ Global environment & equalization: 116.4 trillion GDD/year

The triple bottom line principle of money creation creates 349.2 trillion GDD per year (9.7 billion people × 3,000 GDD × 12 months). One third each - i.e. 116.4 trillion GDD per year - is available globally for the Active Basic Income, for national or regional budgets and for the Global Environment and Equalization Fund (AUF). Each national government and the global environmental fund therefore have a precisely calculable and reliable budget for their tasks.

2.3 What happens to fiat currencies

Gentle transition 2040-2050:

Phase 1: Stabilization (2040-2043)

  • EUR, USD, etc. remain „heritage currencies“

  • 1:1 conversion to GDD guaranteed

  • All EUR balances are gradually converted into GDD

  • Nobody loses savings

Phase 2: Historical museums (2043-2050)

  • Fiat currencies only in museums

  • Numismatic valuables

  • Historical significance („How the world used to work“)

  • Collector value increases paradoxically

Phase 3: Archiving (from 2050)

  • Only digital/archived

  • Young people only know GDD

  • EUR, USD, etc. are history

Part 3: Social transformation

3.1 The end of poverty

Global mathematics:

9.7 billion people × 1,000 GDD/month (AGE)
= 116.4 trillion GDD/year for basic human income
= 116.4 trillion USD equivalent (if GDD=USD)

Comparison: Currently approx. 2-3 USD/day is enough to fight hunger
         = approx. 730 USD/year
         = approx. 8,760 USD/decade

With AGE: Each person receives 12,000 GDD/year
         = Over 15× the hunger-fighting minimum
         = Comfortable livelihood

Reality 2050:

Part 8: Critical questions and answers

Q: Is such a change really possible?

A: Historical precedents:

  • 1944: Bretton Woods System (currency area)

  • 1993: Internet goes global (decentralized network)

  • 2009: Bitcoin shows decentralized cryptography

  • Sys transformations are possible

Catalysts:

  • Economic superiority of GDD

  • Environmental pressure

  • Technology enablers (blockchain, DLT, AI)

  • Critical mass will be reached

Q: What about countries that are not participating?

A: There are always outsiders:

  • A few autocratic regimes

  • They are isolated, not punished

But:

  • Citizens want a global system

  • Pressure from the inside

  • Disadvantages become obvious

  • At some point, they also join

Q: Who controls the global GDD?

A: No one central.

  • Each country controls its GDD (decentralized)

  • Software is open source, protocol is transparent

  • Rules are set democratically

  • There is no „World Central Bank“

This is the opposite of previous currency control!

Q: What happens to speculators?

A: They disappear because:

  • Transience prevents hoarding

  • No compound interest gains

  • No arbitrage possible

  • Speculation is structurally impossible

But: Legitimate investments work better (interest-free loans)

Part 9: The vision in figures

2050 Global statistics

Epilogue: January 1, 2050, midnight

The world celebrates the moment when the last fiat currency is officially discontinued.

In New York, London, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Delhi, Sydney at the same time:

  • The old era ends

  • The new era begins

A child is born - in any time zone - and is born immediately:

  • 1,000 GDD Active basic income (monthly)

  • Access to the digital university (free of charge)

  • Healthcare (free of charge, preventive)

  • A home (from Housing First program)

Humanity has achieved what many thought was impossible: A global monetary system that does not oppress, but liberates. Not centrally controlled, but decentrally managed. Not favoring profiteers, but giving equal rights to all.

The transformation was not easy. There was resistance, setbacks, doubters. But the logic was irresistible:

  • A system that works is adopted.

  • A system that is fair is loved.

  • A system that is sustainable is maintained.

Closing words: The future is not written

This Vision 2050 is not a prophecy. It is a possibility.

Whether it becomes reality depends on decisions - starting now.

Every country that says „yes“ to Gradido in 2028 makes the vision more likely. Every company that accepts high GDD shares makes the system possible. Every person who saves in GDD (= grants interest-free loans) strengthens the structure. Every scientist who validates the system creates trust.

The world of 2050 will be similar to the world of 2025 - or radically different. The difference: gradido or not.

This is not a utopia that is passively expected. It is a task of civilization that requires commitment.

The question is not: Will the world look like this? The question is: will we do the work to make it look like this?

Your answer will decide the future of 10 billion people.

Created November 2025

For a world in peace and harmony with nature - decentralized, fair, sustainable.

Gradido: The economy of justice.

Epilogue: First steps to 2032
