Vision-2032-DE - How Gradido transformed Germany
A history of the greatest economic transformation in German history
It's October 3, 2032 - German Unity Day. This year, however, the Germans are not only celebrating the reunification of 1990, but also their „Second unit“The successful introduction of Gradido, which fundamentally changed the country for the better in just five years and united East and West economically and socially.
The Federal President stands in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of people from all parts of the country. Next to him stands Sabine Müller, a single mother from Leipzig who now runs a thriving community bakery. On the other side is Hans Schmidt, a farmer from Lower Saxony, whose family almost lost their farm after three generations - and is now operating more profitably and ecologically than ever before.
„Seven years ago in the winter of 2025/26, we were facing a deep crisis. Economic stagnation for years. 13 million people in poverty. The traffic light coalition had collapsed. The new government had little support from the population. The longest crisis of confidence in our post-war history. Today, we look back on a nation that has proven its worth: If we act together, we can make the impossible possible.“
Let's look back at how this transformation happened - and how Gradido systematically solved each individual problem.
Year 1 (2028): Laying the foundations
January 2028: The historic „Economic Freedom and Common Good Act“
After over two-year intensive negotiations, a revolutionary law is passed in 2028: the „Economic Freedom and Common Good Act WFGG“ short “Gradido law”.
After intensive consultations with the Gradido Academy, expert hearings and an unprecedented dialog with business, trade unions, churches and civil society, the Bundestag passes the law with 68% approval. It establishes Gradido (GDD) as the complementary national currency next to the euro.
Core provisions:
50% rule: At least 50% of all payments must be accepted in GDD
Parity rule: 1 GDD = 1 EUR (fixed exchange rate for 5 years)
Tax exemption: All GDD transactions are tax and duty free
Triple money creation: 3,000 GDD per capita per month
1,000 GDD as Active basic income
1,000 GDD for the State budget
1,000 GDD for the Compensation and Environment Fund (AUF)
Transience: Negative interest rate of 50% annually (5.61% monthly) stabilizes the money supply
Mathematics of transformation
Population Germany: 84 million
Monthly money creation:
Active basic income: 84 million × 1,000 GDD = 84 billion GDD
State budget including social benefits and healthcare system: 84 million × 1,000 GDD = 84 billion GDD
Environmental fund: 84 million × 1,000 GDD = 84 billion GDD
Total: 252 billion GDD per month
Annual money creation: 3.024 trillion GDD
Comparison with previous system (2025):
Federal tax revenue: approx. EUR 390 billion
Total government revenue (all levels): approx. EUR 870 billion
Total government expenditure (all levels): approx. EUR 1,650 billion
Of which social security (financed by contributions from citizens): around EUR 550-570 billion
New government revenue with Gradido:
EUR revenue (50% of the economy):
Federal taxes: ~EUR 195 billion
State and municipal taxes: ~EUR 240 billion
Total EUR: EUR 435 billion
GDD revenue:
State budget (2nd money creation): 1.008 trillion GDD
Equalization and environmental fund AUF (3rd money creation): 1.008 trillion GDD
Total GDD: 2.016 trillion GDD
Total budget of the state:
EUR 435 billion + 2.016 trillion GDD = 2.451 trillion EUR equivalent
This corresponds to 149 % of total government expenditure to date (including insurance contributions). The surplus, in particular for the Equalization and Environmental Fund (AUF), amounts to EUR 801 billion (EUR 49 %).
In the Gradido model, all previous expenditure on environmental, climate and resource protection and related areas - including health, sport, recreation, food, agriculture, energy and water management - will be systematically transferred to the new AUF. As a result, the AUF will have at least an additional EUR 200 billion at its disposal and will achieve the planned allocation of around GDD 1 trillion per year.
For the first time, effective and transparent financing of elementary public welfare tasks such as environmental transformation, sustainable infrastructure, near-natural agriculture and preventive health is thus secured on a permanent and solidarity-based basis - without any individual burden and with maximum efficiency at all levels of society.
Infrastructure development: December 2026 - March 2028
Following the government's announcement of the law, preparations will begin in December 2026. The German government is working with the Gradido Academy, SAP, Telekom and other German tech companies:
Gradido account: Free, decentralized, user-friendly, multilingual - has already been developed by the Gradido Academy Open Source and will be further expanded
Gradido Wallet App: Offline-capable for all end devices, multilingualism
Hardware terminals: 2 million payment terminals nationwide
Banking integration: All banks and savings banks integrate GDD functionality into their systems
Data protection: GDPR-compliant, decentralized distributed ledger system of the latest generation (Hiero, Hashgraph)
Perishable cash: “DankBar” with year, exchange rate to Gradido is automatically adjusted
Investment: 15 billion (50% GDD, 50% EUR)“
The first „Gradido Day“: April 15, 2028
On April 15, 2028, all 84 million Germans will receive the right to the Active basic income. Every citizen can volunteer for the common good. Maximum 50 hours × 20 GDD = 1,000 GDD per month. Parents receive it unconditionally. Children according to age.
Sabine Müller's story:
Sabine, 37, single mother from Leipzig. Works as a retail saleswoman (part-time) + cleaner. Monthly income: EUR 1,800. After rent, childcare, living expenses, nothing left.
On April 15, she receives:
1,000 GDD for yourself (as a mother)
1,000 GDD for her 14-year-old daughter (contributes to the common good according to her age)
1,000 GDD for her 10-year-old son (contributes to the common good according to his age)
Total: 3,000 GDD (equivalent to EUR 3,000)
She registers for German courses for migrants: 8 hours/week = 640 GDD extra.
She quits her job as a cleaner.
Your new income (after termination of the cleaning position):
Job (retail, full-time): EUR 1,200 gross → EUR 600 + 600 GDD (tax-free)
Active basic income: 3,000 GDD (family: her + 2 children)
Work for the common good: German courses for migrants, 8 hours/week = 640 GDD per month
Total: EUR 600 + 4,240 GDD
Effective purchasing power: EUR 4,840 equivalent = +135% compared to 2025 (EUR 1,800)
The most important thing: Sabine now has Time and security. The cleaning job, which was barely enough for her to survive, is no longer necessary. She can continue to develop professionally - for example, through further training in retail or later in the bakery that she is now setting up.

Average family (2.3 persons):
Of these, an average of around 1 person works full-time and does not participate in the Active Basic Income.
1,400 GDD per month as an active basic income
Salaries for 50% in GDD (tax-free)
Example: Average family
Before (2025):
Gross income: EUR 50,000
Taxes/duties (28%): EUR -14,000
Net income: EUR 36,000
Afterwards (2029):
Income: EUR 25,000 + GDD 25,000
Taxes on EUR share (18%): EUR -4,500
Active basic income: 16,800 GDD per year
Net income: EUR 20,500 + 41,800 GDD = EUR 62,300 equivalent
Increase: 73% more purchasing power!
Agriculture: Regenerative conversion
Hans + Gerda Schmidt, 54 and 51, family farm in Lower Saxony. Hans‘ parents and 1 child still live on the farm
The farm is on the verge of bankruptcy:
Debt: EUR 350,000 at 5.5% = EUR 19,250 interest/year
Input costs: EUR 120,000
Profit 2025: EUR -25,000 (loss)
With Gradido 2029:
Family receives Active Basic Income, 2 pensioners, 1 mother, 1 child:
6,000 GDD per month = 72,000 GDD/year
Debt transformation:
The old debt is restructured:
350,000 EUR → 175,000 EUR (mortgage with the house bank, 5.5% interest/year) + 175,000 GDD (credit agricultural cooperative, interest free)
Interest only on EUR part: 9,625 EUR/year (Halving the annual interest burden!)
GDD part is repaid in installments over 10 years: 17,500 GDD/year
This combined financing is strategic: the usual EUR mortgage is readily accepted by the house bank (traditional security), while the cooperative bears the interest-free GDD component - both more sustainable and socially fairer in the long-term perspective than a classic loan.
Conversion to regenerative agriculture:
AUF supports with 150,000 GDD/year (first 5 years)
Seeds/seedlings via cooperative: 30,000 GDD
Diesel: EUR 15,000 + 15,000 GDD
First sales revenue: EUR 40,000 + GDD 40,000
SoLaWi (Solidarische Landwirtschaft) 40 members: EUR 16,000 + GDD 16,000
Balance sheet after conversion in 2029:
EUR revenue:
Sale via organic market (still partly EUR-based): EUR 36,000
Grants/subsidies: EUR 5,000
EUR total income: EUR 41,000
GDD revenue:
Organic products via SoLaWi (40 members): EUR 16,000 ≈ 16,000 GDD
Direct sales at weekly markets (GDD share): 8,000 GDD
AUF funding for conversion: 150,000 GDD/year
Total GDD income: 174,000 GDD
Plus active basic income for family (3 generations, 2 of which are retired): 72,000 GDD
Total budget: 41,000 EUR + 246,000 GDD ≈ 287,000 EUR-equivalent
Result: The farm is not only debt-free along the way (GDD part interest-free), but also generates real added value through ecological transformation. The family lives comfortably and can invest in the next generation.
Sabine's bakery dream becomes reality
Sabine uses her accumulated GDD and tax savings as well as her improved EUR income to renovate an old store in Leipzig. With an interest-free GDD loan from the cooperative (80,000 GDD over 5 years) and savings, she buys an oven and opens a Community bakery.
Financing of the bakery:
Interest-free GDD loan: 80,000 GDD (5-year installments: 16,000 GDD/year)
Equity from EUR savings: EUR 15,000
Funding for social enterprises from AUF: 30,000 GDD (first 3 years)
The bakery will be a joint project:
Accepted 80% GDD + 20% EUR
Employs 2 full-time employees + Sabine (as owner)
Sells organic bread from local, regenerative agriculture
Has a Café area for neighborhood meetings
Balance sheet 2029:
Bakery turnover: EUR 80,000 + GDD 320,000 (business operations)
Sabine's profit (30%): EUR 24,000 + 96,000 GDD
Plus: Active basic income family 3,000 GDD/month
Total income: EUR 24,000 + 132,000 GDD ≈ EUR 156,000 equivalent
The transformation is complete: From poverty to middle class to entrepreneur - all in 2 years, not because the system makes her rich, but because it makes her gives them the time, security and opportunity to develop their potential.

Unemployment:
2025: 5.9% (official quota: 2.5 million people)
2032: 0.6% (50,400 people, mainly through Fricton between jobs)
Why is this possible?
Active basic income: Everyone can be economically active
Lower non-wage labor costs: employers are hiring more
More start-ups: 120,000 start-ups/year create jobs
Regenerative agriculture: 200,000 new jobs
Renewable energies: 500,000 new skilled workers
(The 0.6% are technology-related, short-term transitions between positions).

2025 Germany: 0.31 (already relatively equal due to welfare state)
2032 with Gradido: 0.18 (significantly more equal company)
This is a reduction in inequality of 42%.
For comparison: South Africa 2025 ≈ 0.63 (very unequal), Denmark 2025 ≈ 0.27 (very equal). This would make Germany one of the most equal societies in the world in 2032.

Epilogue: October 3, 2032 - Brandenburg Gate
The Federal President concludes his speech in front of the Brandenburg Gate:
„Dear fellow citizens, five years ago, skeptics asked us: ‚How are you going to pay for this? And how are you going to get healthier?‘
Today we answer both questions:
Money is not a scarce commodity. Time, resources and human potential are.
And Health does not come from expensive repairs - health comes from intelligent prevention, from nature, from peace and quiet, from community.
We have started to create a prevention infrastructure and spend significantly less on sick people. We respect naturopathy again - not against conventional medicine, but with it, synergistically.
The results are impressive: less illness, longer life, greater well-being - and 40% lower healthcare costs.
This shows: A society that finances prevention instead of just repairing illness not only wins in terms of health - it wins at all levels.
In 1990, we celebrated the reunification of Germany. In 2032, we will celebrate the union of man and nature, of the economy and the common good, of modern prosperity and ancient wisdom.
Welcome to the second German unity. Welcome to the Gradido era. Welcome to our common, prosperous, healthy future.„
The crowd erupts in cheers. Drones unfold a huge light show above the Brandenburg Gate - in green and gold, the colors of Gradido:
Green for the earth. Gold for the flourishing of all life - and now also for real health for everyone.
Sabine hugs her children. Hans wipes away a tear. Dr. Sarah Müller, the family doctor from Dresden, thinks about her patients - many of whom are no longer chronically ill for the first time in years. Millions of people across the country, in front of screens and in public places, feel the same:
Hope. Pride. Health. Belonging. Future.
Germany has saved itself - and perhaps shown Europe and the world a way forward.

Comparison of money supply: 1.8 trillion EUR + 4.5 trillion GDD = 6.3 trillion
GDP 2032: EUR 5.0 trillion
Ratio: 1.26 (moderate, no hyperinflation)
Conclusion: The transformation miracle
This is not utopia. This is applied mathematics + political will + integrative health + German thoroughness.
The combination of:
Financial security (Active basic income)
Prevention instead of repair (blood tests + supplementation)
Naturopathy integration (40% cost savings)
Health education (behavioral prevention)
Ecological transformation (Healthy nutrition, stress reduction)
...results in a system that is not only economically optimized, but that creates real, deep, sustainable health for all people.
This is Gradido - the economy of gratitude, the economy of recovery.
This is the future we can create together.
Created for the Gradido Academy, November 2025
