Gratitude, appreciation and humanity are the core values of Gradido - the "appreciation currency" that has emerged from over 20 years of research work at the Gradido Academy for Economic Bionics. Scalable: from public welfare contributions...
Since the test launch, people have experienced Gradido as a unit of appreciation for contributions to the common good. Volunteers receive Gradidos as a visible sign of gratitude. Companies express their social responsibility with generous discounts and benefits for Gradido and strengthen customer loyalty. Gradido promotes mutual support and open cooperation in neighborhood assistance.
...up to the decentralized currency
Even as a unit of appreciation for the common good, Gradido can alleviate poverty and promote prosperity. In this way, important projects and services can be realized that would otherwise fail due to a lack of money. Its full potential unfolds when Gradido opens up new perspectives as a decentralized complementary currency - as a supplement to existing money.
Monetary model based on economic bionics
For more than 20 years, the Business Biologist of the Gradido Academy, the principles of nature that have produced diversity of life, abundance and balance for four and a half billion years. This gave rise to the "Natural Economy of Life" - an invitation to transfer nature's solutions to human coexistence.
Gradido follows the eternal cycle of growth and decay, the play of renewal that brings forth new life at every moment. This 'cycle of life' is the model for our Proposal for a new monetary systemthat does not divide, but connects and builds on appreciation, exchange and shared growth.
We are convinced that the Natural Economy of Life can heal the money-related problems of our time and pave the way to prosperity and peace for the entire human family - in loving harmony with nature.
The circle of life creates stability
With Gradido, the creation of new units of appreciation is based on the number of participants. New Gradidos are regularly created for each person - on a credit basis, without incurring any debt. This makes Gradido fundamentally different from the current monetary system.
In order to maintain a healthy balance, Gradido follows the natural cycle of life: every year, 50 percent of the existing balances expire as planned. This gentle 'transience' ensures that the total amount of Gradidos always remains stable - bubbles, as they occur in the old system, are thus avoided.
In this way, Gradido creates a lively and self-regulating balance. Abundance and stability for all become possible without the downsides of debt, inflation or scarcity. The economy follows the example of nature and serves the well-being of people and the earth.
Serious problems
of the current financial system
The business bionics team has three major causes be able to identify poverty, exploitation, hunger, wars, refugee movements, diseases, environmental degradation and related natural disasters.

Money creation through debt: Over 95 % of the world's money is created by debt. Consequently, each credit on one side results in the same amount of debt on the other.

Interest and compound interest act as a fire accelerator. As a result, the gap between assets and debts, wealth and poverty, is widening even further.
3.
The disregard of the cycle of becoming and passing leads to the fact that this law of nature breaks its way arbitrarily. Fatal forms of unplanned "transience" are financial crises, inflation, wars, environmental destruction and other catastrophes.
Unconditional participation
In the fully developed Gradido model, Gradido is scooped according to a three-pillar principle: a total of 3,000 Gradido (GDD) is then scooped every month for every person in the world. One third goes to each person as Active basic incomeThe second third goes to the public budget for the provision of general infrastructure, including healthcare, and the third part goes to a compensation and environmental fund to enable the remediation of economic and environmental legacy issues.

The basic ethical principle of Gradido is based on harmonizing the well-being of the individual with that of the community and the greater whole - in the sense of nature and the environment. The individual is part of the community (e.g. city, country, nation, humanity) and at the same time part of the 'big picture', the ecosystem. If one of these three aspects is neglected, the entire system begins to falter.

The new earth will not come from an external force. Humanity bears the responsibility for Gaia and must bring about the changes itself. I am grateful that more and more people are committing themselves to this goal in love and respect for the eternal natural laws.

What appeals to me most about Gradido is the principle of gratitude - and the vision of a peaceful economy. I would like to see a world in which cooperation comes before competition and in which healthy communities grow. With Gradido, this dream seems tangible.
